Dear Life and to Those who Live it

Hello life. I have come to decide that from this point on, you are now my bitch.

I have been a passenger almost the whole journey so far, and am sick and tired of it. Sick and tired of what’s expected of me. What my parents expect of me. What my friends expect of me. And what the system expects of me.

These thoughts have always sat idly in the back of my mind, yet I have always lacked the initiative to truly put them into action. So fuck it, I am opening the door and booting who ever, or what ever, has the bullshit idea that it has the slightest inkling of control or supremacy over who I am, what I will do, and who I will become.

I have outgrown the immature state of mind that allows reason or premonition to effect my actions. Moved on from the fear that kept my emotions at bay.

How many times have you wanted to do something that veers off the road society has meticulously laid before us, but been too afraid of the consequences or what other will think of you if you do? How bad you have wanted to do what ever it may be, but held yourself back because it’s the safer rout? After all, if you don't go out on a limb and attempt something, you can never fall off and get hurt right? But sometimes whats at the end of the branch is worth the risk of the fall. So it's time to try it, and if you fail, pick yourself up, and do it again and again until its yours.

The world is crying in desperation for change, and it will never happen if we all follow in the same crumbling footsteps our parents have walked down. We need to realize this is our generation; this is our place in time. And as far as any one of us knows, it's the only one we will ever have.

SO WHY BE ORDINARY?
Why be who it’s expected of you to become? Because from what I can tell, what society expects us to do, is the reason we are as fucked up and as close to destruction as we are.
It is expected of you to follow the same religion your family has always followed. So we blindly and ignorantly follow a backwards set of beliefs and rules created by those who have died thousands and thousands of years ago. If you’re a Palestine you must hate the Israelites. If you’re a catholic only you will be allowed into heaven, but all others are not worthy of this. And if you go out in a car bomb and take with you as many non-believers as you can, the 72 virgins are yours! Brilliant.
It is expected of you to chose the political party of your choice, place your vote, and sit back. Sit back while some man in a nice suit with a nice smile fills peoples heads with false ideals of nationalism, and pride for ones nation. All so he can justify sending innocent citizens to kill innocent citizens from a far away land which we are too ignorant to know anything about (Other than what is spoon fed to us by the media). And these innocent citizens are taught the very same ideals from another man in another nice suit, with another nice smile. And how does this nice man fund this endless cycle of murder? With your money. So when you think about it, you’re hiring a hit man. In a nice suit.

But I am getting side tracked in another rant entirely. BUT THE POINT IS. The way we run the world is pretty damn fucked up. So why perpetuate the cycle? We all assume we are too insignificant to change things. That we are just one person. Bullshit. Our presence in the universe is insignificant, our planet is insignificant when viewing the universe as a whole. But our presence, and our impact on the planet we live on is anything but insignificant! So make changes! Be kind to everyone you meet, even if they don't deserve it. Because there has been enough hate in the past to last us forever. Do things that take you well beyond your comfort zone. And live your life the way YOU want it to happen. We need a revolution. And it’s you and me who must start it. Not him and her.

Posting this note is out of my comfort zone. And though it may seem naive, I know there are more people who feel like I do.

The world is your oyster.
Viva la Revolution.
